While many espouse the cause of quality, T&R Precision Engineering is of the persuasion that quality requires regular practice, hence its insistence that all production employees should become proficient in the use and application of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Statistical Process Control techniques (SPC).
The use of SPC is widely employed throughout the business to maintain and improve both component accuracy and consistency, together with tool life and performance.
Component quality matches the standard of the company’s International Quality Approvals which include ISO9000:2001, AS9100. Customer approvals including BAE Systems, Airbus UK, Aircelle Ltd (Safran Group), Darchem Engineering Ltd (Esterline Technologies) and BHW Hampson (Hampson Industries) further shows the company’s capability, and symbolises T&R’s strengths and achievements in its major field of aerospace manufacturing.
The company and its workforce take great pride in the environment in which they work. The application of 5s principles throughout the business, and the determination of employees to render as redundant, oil and swarf contamination outside its normal machine environment, makes for a clean and presentable working environment. Whilst the key objective for every employee is to maximise the efficiency of the machines they are operating, it is nevertheless incumbent upon them to take full responsibility to ensure that their surrounding environment meets the standard expected by the company.
